Travis Scott – Owl Pharaoh If you follow the G.O.O.D. Music family, you will know Travis Scott. You would also know that Travis announced his mixtape Owl Pharaoh what seems to be forever ago. If you don’t know who he is, you’re lucky because you didn’t have to go through that excruciating wait to hear some pretty unique music. If you can’t recognize the voice, he had a couple of verses in the Sin City track from Cruel Summer. The album wasn’t that good, so I’m not even sure if you heard that. Pure Bathing Culture Swings the Pendulum in New Song

Pure Bathing Culture – Pendulum Today I have a friend heading back from Portlandia today. I thought it only right for him to end the trip with some new indie pop from a couple of Portland natives. Pure Bathing Culture just dropped this pretty emotional track entitled Pendulum. Sarah Verspille’s emotional tone cries over the track, just like my friend as he cries his way out of the Nike Factory for the last time. This track is actually the opening song from the duo’s 2012 release, Moon Tides. Maybe it’s something he can play on the plane ride home. This happens to be one of my favorite songs from Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City. With all the good songs on that album, it’s kind of hard to pick of favorite. He was right though. Lauryn Hill Heads to Jail for $500,000 in Unpaid Taxes After not being able to pay $500,000 in taxes, Lauryn Hill heads to jail for three months. This is after three months of home confinement when her tax evasion came back to bite her. Lauryn claimed that the fees were too steep as she ”withdrawn from society” following alleged threats against her family. Her “withdrawn from society” claims occured when she vanished from public eye to take care of her five children by Rohan Marley (son of Bob Marley) after the success of her classic album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Janelle Monae feat. Erykah Badu – Q.U.E.E.N. Video I didn’t check out the song from Janelle Monae when it first came out, but you know I’m going to check out the video. Janelle is one of a kind and it shows in this new music video for Q.U.E.E.N. She’s the main attraction in a museum featuring her Wondaland crew and Erykah Badu. The once quiet gallery gets funky as soon as someone puts on a record on a record player I really, really want now. Butterclock – Holograms Video This new Butterclock music video is a bit strange. I like the song itself, but I have a feeling a bunch of hipsters came together to make the video. It’s pretty much our lead singer, Laura Clock, behind I green screen… I think. The video played behind her is pretty interesting. One segment had Soulja Boy for some reason. When we do, I hope it’s as good as the collaboration between Charli XCX and Marina and the Diamonds entitled Just Desserts. This songs is pretty much one of those girl power songs created when a girl has been hurt by a dude. I guess the two ladies decided to put their thoughts on wax. I wonder who hurt them.
